The State of god
A rural Oregon man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail and over $1,500 in fines because he had three reservoirs on his property to collect and use rainwater.
Sometimes there are rational explanations for what appears odd in news stories. In this instance, though, it’s just as simple as stated. Some old, archaic law gets leveraged by government to punish him for doing something completely sensible. He’s now surrendered to serve time in jail. This is beyond contemptible. When courts behave in this way, when governments act this way, they usurp the sovereignty of God. They become god, and for a godless society there isn’t an issue. But for the truly Godly who understand the evil that is leviathan government there can be no righteous servitude.
When the people vote it is, among other things, a sanction of government. I did it when I was a kid, but I refuse to say the pledge of allegiance to the flag or sing the battle hymn of the republic. My allegiance is to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, not to the god of the state.
