Rhetoric

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he believes the primary goal of President Obama’s second term is to “annihilate the Republican Party.”

“Given what we heard yesterday about the president’s vision for his second term, it’s pretty clear to me that he knows he can’t do any of that as long as the House is controlled by Republicans,” Boehner said in a speech Tuesday to The Ripon Society. “So we’re expecting over the next 22 months to be the focus of this administration as they attempt to annihilate the Republican Party.

He’s lying. He doesn’t really believe any of it. It’s hyperbole for effect to engender sympathy and angst among conservatives and Republicans. Read the rest of the article and it’s understandable. Boehner says, “We’re going to have to make some big decisions about how we as a party take on this challenge. Where’s the ground that we fight on? Where’s the ground that we retreat on? Where are the smart fights? Where are the dumb fights that we have to stay away from? We’ve got a lot of big decisions to make.” What in the name of Sam Houston is he talking about? He’s a party leader and the party doesn’t know the answers to these questions already? In truth, it does and he does. He knows he and the party are joined at the hip with the Democrats as the ruling elite and he can’t go “annihilating” the Democrats anymore than he can claim it’s what the POTUS wants to do to them.

The idea of Obama or the Democrats wanting to “annihilate the Republican Party” is absurd. The Democrat Party needs the Republican Party and vice versa. The charade continues. One can’t continue without the other as the tension would cease to exist and the ruling oligarchy would become apparent and dispel the comfortable cover of polarchy.

The Parties involved are in fact doing a satisfactory job of annihilating themselves. Hopefully the populace will one day have their heads on a pike for all this.

About elmoshangnaster

The name's a dodge simply because 1) on the internet I can be whomever I choose, and 2) I'm just paranoid enough to keep scoundrels and government out of my business and don't care to sort 'em out from the decent folk. My blog, my opinions. Don't like 'em? Sure, kindly tell me about your far-fetched, idiotic beliefs...kindly. In the end we'll neither of us change the others mind, but I will take the time to read your arguments if they're thought out in a rational fashion and not full of hyperbole. I'm a Christian human being. It's not a flavor or color preference, it's who and what I am. Don't like it? The above considerations apply. I'm not about to waste anyone's time or mine shoving Christianity down their gullet if they demonstrate even the least resistance. When someone's ready to hear I'm only too glad to share. The Gravatar? It's Jenny Lake in the Tetons near Jackson, WY. If God had a house that's where it would be.
